AiSee an AI-powered Assistive Headset Helps Visually Impaired Individuals 'See' Their Surroundings.

AiSee is an AI-powered assistive headset developed by NUS researchers to help visually impaired individuals ‘see’ their surroundings using a camera, speakers, and large language models.

The device provides essential services like identifying buses and private-hire rides using GPS data and verbal alerts, significantly improving mobility and independence for users like Madam Teresa Ng.

AiSee can assist in activities like shopping by reading product information aloud, enhancing convenience and reducing reliance on others.

A spin-off company has been launched to commercialize AiSee at US$299, with efforts underway to secure subsidies through SG Enable for persons with disabilities.

While initially designed for visually impaired users, AiSee is now being adapted for broader uses, including educational tours and real-time information access using open-source development.
