Mark is the founder of Inclusion Impact Accessibility, a full-service digital accessibility consultancy focused on the positive impact accessibility can have on business. Throughout his 13-year career as a digital accessibility consultant, Mark has worked for both small and large enterprise accessibility firms. As a thought leader and educator, he is a prolific speaker appearing on many webinars, podcasts, and stages. He currently co-hosts The Accessibility Breakdown.
Mark has a passion for helping organizations with accessibility strategies and sustained conformance to requirements such as the ADA Title II & III, Section 508, Section 504 HHS, EAA, and the WCAG guidelines. He is an invited expert on the W3C Maturity Model Task Force of the APA WG, working on the Accessibility Maturity Model (AMM).
As a thought leader, Mark is a prolific speaker on digital accessibility and maintains a robust speaking and podcasting schedule. He is on the borad of directors of No Brain is the Same a nonprofit dedicated to teach ing school-age Children about neurodiversity, inclusive learning, and supportive educational environments.
Why Digital Accessibility?
Before accessibility, Mark worked extensively in technology as an entrepreneur and in mid-size and corporate environments. He learned about digital accessibility from a friend who was working in the industry. Having grown up with dyslexia and spending significant time exposed to deaf culture while learning American Sign Language, Mark knew digital accessibility was his path. He spent three years searching for a way to break into the industry and blend his technology knowledge with accessibility. He then found an opportunity at Interactive Accessibility and was united with his first mentor, Kathy Whalbin
Interactive Accessibility, where Mark started working in accessibility, grew, and five years after he joined the company, it merged, under Vispero, with The Paciello Group and rebranded as TPGi. Mark stayed on, helping clients with accessibility strategy and conformance to regulations like the ADA and the WCAG guidelines. He also helped develop products and services and their go-to-market strategy.
Having worked on the Proactive Accessibility Conformance Strategy (PACS) at Interactive Accessibility, then with the accessibility maturity practice at TPGi, Mark developed a passion for organizational accessibility strategy and joined the W3C Maturity Model Task Force of the APA WG, working on the Accessibility Maturity Model (AMM).
Today, Mark continues his work as an invited expert on the W3C AMM and as the founder of Inclusion Impact Accessibility, where he and his team continue to consult with organizations and bring them the best strategies and solutions to manage and grow the accessibility of their digital assets.
