ivvi Notes, an AI-powered mind mapping app for learners with dyslexia, won the BETT Award for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) & Inclusion Resources and Services.
The company was started by Jo Lee and Darius Namdaran in their bedroom, inspired by their dyslexic daughter’s struggles with traditional study methods.
ivvi converts spoken lectures into real-time visual mind maps, helping dyslexic students take and organize notes more effectively.
The app empowers learners by allowing them to control how they interpret and organize information, rather than having AI do it for them.
In less than a year, the business grew significantly, with ivvi Notes now regularly recommended to UK university students via Disabled Students’ Allowance.
