Parent Built AI Tutor for Dyslexia and ADHD

Child enjoying personal learning.

Arlyn Gajilan created Tobey’s Tutor, an AI learning platform, to support her son with dyslexia and ADHD after he struggled with traditional schooling. She used her experience in journalism and AI integration at Reuters to build a customized GPT that helped boost her son’s confidence and academic skills.

Tobey’s Tutor evolved from a personal AI Tutor for Dyslexia and ADHD into a subscription-based platform, developed through constant research, testing, and feedback from her son and the learning-differences community.

Despite limited resources and coding knowledge, Gajilan built the platform using generative AI, aiming to make quality educational support more affordable and accessible.

Tobey himself contributed to the development as both a tester and motivator, and Gajilan encourages other entrepreneurs to use AI, stay resilient, and focus on mission-driven innovation.
