Led by accessibility avocates, the National Federation of the Blind is suing the Trump administration over the Title II & HHS extensions.

The delayed rules, finalized under the Biden administration, were meant to improve web and digital accessibility under the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

The Justice Department and HHS said they postponed the deadlines because affected entities were not ready, citing staffing, technology, and cost concerns.

The lawsuit claims the delays violated the Administrative Procedure Act and ignored harms to people with disabilities, and asks the court to restore the original compliance deadlines.
