The Vision Wallet, which looks like a conventional men’s wallet with a compact electronic module, uses embedded sensors and specially designed grooves to read notes from any corner and detect counterfeits. This Helps People with Vision Disabilities identify the denomination of their money.

NAB Tamil Nadu distributed Vision Wallets to 15 visually impaired women on March 13 at its Kodungaiyur office to mark International Women’s Day; these 15 are part of a 250-person batch across Tamil Nadu, and applications will open after the batch is served.

The Vision Wallet is developed by H Vision India Pvt. Ltd. and the distribution is sponsored by Synamedia India Pvt. Ltd. (Tharamani), Reachem Laboratory Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., and Rotaract Clubs.

It announces currency denominations and counterfeit-detection results via audio in Hindi and English, without requiring a smartphone or internet, helping visually impaired users identify notes independently.
